How can I thaw fish quickly? They were fresh bass and we froze them. I just threw the thawed batch out. Husband really wants fish tonight & I’m going to broil it so it will be done quick, but how can I get it to thaw? The rest of the recipe is already finished & the kids are getting anxious and wanting my attention and their dinner. (They’re 2 and almost 1.)

Defrost in microwave.
Leaving in tepid water also helps defrost but it is not instant thawing.
Microwave for a minute or run cold water over them.
If you want to thaw frozen fish faster, hold the fish under cold (not hot or warm) running water until the fish is flexible, then cook as soon as possible.
Use the microwave on the lowest defrost setting to thaw the fish. Follow the microwave instructions based on the size or amount of fish.

Put the fish in a big bowl of warm water, warm like bath water. Then wait. It might take 5 or 10 minutes, but it’s better than 3 hours! If the water gets cold, change it. Hope this helps!
Depends on how fast. Microwave is more likely to start cooking it, even at the lowest setting… which ruins the appearance unless you bread them or slather them with sauce.
If you have a couple of hours, emerse them in a fairly large pot of room temperature water. Change the water every half hour or so, since it will quickly become ice water. Which means that it is drawing the cold out of the fish.
In the future, best to freeze the individual fish or filets in separate bags and then put all the little bags in a larger freezer bag. They will thaw better than a solid chunk.
For frozen fish, use cold running water to thaw it out. I advise against using the microwave to thaw fish.
Just stick them in a bowl of “cold” water. As they fall off remove them to fresh cold water.
